Phrase of the week

Hello again!! This week we have the expression "If in doubt…", which is used to introduce an action that you should always do if you are not sure what to do. It is employed both in speaking and writing, and only in a informal context (not in a formal one).

Example:
  • Should I put nuts in Janice's birthday cake? I think she might be allergic to them.
  • If in doubt, leave them out.
  • Okay, that's what I'll do.

We hope you have found it useful. More expressions the next week ;-)
